terms & conditions
Last updated: July 13, 2026
1. Who you're contracting with
These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Urtina Sejdaj (the “Seller”). Dear the Stars is maintained and operated on behalf of the Seller by Vlera Sejdaj (the “Operator”). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Why this exists
Dear the Stars is a little corner of the internet made to help you feel heard. That's the whole point — nothing else. It is not a marketing tool, a data-collection funnel, or a mental-health platform. It's just a quiet place to put your thoughts down and receive a kind reply.
Not a mental-health service ♡ important
Please read this carefully. Dear the Stars is not a therapy service, a crisis line, or a substitute for professional mental-health care. I (Vlera Sejdaj, the Operator) am not a licensed therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or medical professional, and nothing I write to you is medical, psychological, or clinical advice. I can only offer a listening ear and a warm reply — I cannot provide diagnosis, treatment, or emergency help.
If you are in crisis, thinking about hurting yourself, or thinking about suicide, please reach out to real help right now:
- United States: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) — free, 24/7.
- United Kingdom & Ireland: call 116 123 (Samaritans).
- Anywhere else: visit findahelpline.com for a local crisis line.
- Immediate danger: call your local emergency number (911 / 112 / 999).
By using Dear the Stars you agree that letters here do not create any therapist–client, medical, or professional-care relationship, and you will not rely on this service for crisis support. Replies may be delayed, and I may not see your letter in time — please do not send urgent safety concerns here.
Your letters stay between you and me ♡
Everything you write here is confidential between you and me — Vlera Sejdaj. I read your letters only to reply to them. I do not share their content with anyone, do not sell them, and do not use them for advertising or training AI models. Your letters are only visible to you and to me.
The only exceptions are the strict minimum required by law: (a) my hosting and database providers, who store the data on my behalf under contract and cannot read it for their own purposes; and (b) if I'm legally required to disclose something (for example, a valid court order). If you ever ask me to delete your letters or your account, I will.
2. Eligibility & account
You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. You are responsible for your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to give accurate information and keep it up to date.
3. The Service
The Service lets you write private letters (“diary entries”) and receive replies. We may offer paid plans that unlock extra features (e.g. premium themes, custom fonts, animated backgrounds, priority replies). We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purpose;
- send spam, malware, or content that violates someone else's rights;
- infringe intellectual property or impersonate others;
- probe, scan, scrape, or interfere with the security or integrity of the Service;
- attempt to reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the content you create. You grant us a limited license to host, store, display, and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.
6. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, belongs to the Seller and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under your chosen plan.
7. Payments & subscriptions
Paid subscriptions are sold by Urtina Sejdaj through our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment processing, tax, invoicing, and related customer service. Payment, billing frequency, taxes, renewal, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to these Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at checkout until you cancel.
8. Refunds
See our Refund Policy for how and when you can request a refund.
9. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, put the Service or other users at risk, or use the Service unlawfully. You can stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.
10. Disclaimers & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or special damages (loss of profits, data, or goodwill), except where such exclusion is not permitted by law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know through the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Seller's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You may have mandatory consumer rights under local law that these Terms do not limit.
